Class of 2020 Personal Memoir: Carter
Carter, Class of 2020
Carter

When I first came to this school in the seventh grade, I never thought I would be in the position I am today. Stanley Clark has truly changed me as a person in a positive way. I have met so many amazing people and have had so many wonderful experiences here. The teachers really connect with the students to help them and it’s a diverse community where everyone is so welcoming and eager to be your friend.

There are many opportunities to take advantage of here at Clark, such as the service-learning trips we take a few times a year. These trips are really eye-opening and educational. They are a great addition to our school. Another opportunity we have is the ability to go on big field trips at the end of our seventh and eighth-grade years. Last year, my class went to Canada for a week and I had a great time. We learned about the value and importance of the theatre community. This year we will go to Washington D.C. to learn about monuments and the great leaders of America. I am excited about this trip and it should be a lot of fun.

The teachers here are very involved and willing to help. They have pushed me to always try to do my best. Whenever I am missing an assignment or struggling in a class, they have always been open to help me figure everything out. They are firm but insanely nice and easy to work with.

The hot lunches here are a great part of the school. I think it is cool that we get to order from several different restaurants for our lunches every Tuesday and Thursday. There are also hot dogs that are served every other Wednesday. It is a great opportunity that we get to have here.

Overall, I have had a great experience at Clark over the past year. This school has made me stronger academically and physically. I feel like I have truly grown up and have become more organized and self-sufficient. I am immensely grateful for this school.
