Olympic Day
Olympic Day is a long-standing tradition dating back to the 1960s. This annual competition culminates in a field day experience each spring. All middle school students compete on one of two teams: Miami or Iroquois. Activities on Olympic Day include events such as the three-legged race, 50 and 100 yard dashes, the bucket brigade, tug of war and more. Lower School students have their own Olympic Day and compete by class. At the end of 4th grade, students are assigned a team to which they will remain loyal for a lifetime. Students whose older family members are Miami or Iroquois are assigned the same team, so the tradition runs strong and deep.
