Camp out at Clark with a good book and good friends! Join us as we read camping books by the “fire”, discover scavenger hunts on Clark grounds, enjoy Go Fish literacy games for phonics and rhyming words, and learn how to make s’mores and other campfire favorites! Each day will bring opportunities to enrich literacy and writing skills in a fun way. Learn to write about favorite forest animals, create poetry with camp songs and s’more directions, and make journals with photos and stories. Come make summer memories while learning and having fun.

Come explore archery with Michiana Archery! Campers will learn range safety, proper archery shooting form and technique, as well as the history and types of archery, all while getting plenty of practice. At Michiana Archery, their USA Archery-certified instructors provide instruction with a focus on safety, fun, and form. This ensures all campers an educational experience consistent with their age level. All levels are welcome. Campers meet at Stanley Clark and are bused to Michiana Archery daily.

Experience the excitement and demands of the courtroom by playing the role of an attorney or witness. Campers will be exposed to public speaking, critical thinking, and more! Learn about all aspects of mock trial, from opening statements to closing arguments and everything in between. Campers will practice their new skills as they prepare to argue their side in State v. Hertz, the camp’s culminating activity. Family and friends will be invited to be members of the jury on the final day! Campers will be expected to have read the case when it arrives approximately two weeks prior to camp.

*SCS parent, Ryan Costantini, has over ten years of experience in coaching mock trial and currently coaches a freshmen team at Adams High School. A trained attorney and graduate of Notre Dame and Notre Dame Law School, Ryan is the Senior Director of International Contracts at AM General.

After spending 20 years teaching Spanish at the Kingswood Oxford Middle School she is thrilled to help campers build vocabulary, fluency, and confidence through iconic summer activities, fun, and games. She earned her Masters in Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont and has been fortunate to study and live in both Toledo, Spain and Guadalajara, México. She has also been able to bring her experiences traveling in Ecuador, Paraguay, and Argentina back to the classroom.

Campers should dress in clothing appropriate for the outdoor elements.

Ready to take your passion out of the front yard and into 2020? Learn the fundamentals of creating a business plan, goal setting, money management, and much more! Campers will pick a domain name, make a logo, create a journal of ideas, learn about apps and have fun sharing their dreams. The week will engage students through fun-filled activities and culminate with an onsite sale.

Learn gymnastics and basic strength training without props or equipment. Campers will be introduced to beginner level somersaults, tucks, and handstands. Come ready to move and have fun each day with both tumbling and treks on the beautiful Clark campus.

*Lauren Feece is an artist and yoga teacher who recently moved back to the area from Chicago. Her paintings and collaborative installations have been featured in publications, galleries, and museums across the country. She has studied yoga with teachers from around the world and has been teaching it for nearly 20 years, infusing her classes with a creative artistic approach.
