About This Event
The 7th Annual Clark Run is a family friendly event featuring a 5K Run, 3.5K Walk and .05K Tiger Trot. The Stanley Clark School's Parents' Association is excited to showcase the beautiful rolling hills of South Bend’s south side and offer a unique, well organized race for area runners. This is a fundraiser for the Parents' Association.

The Course
The course for the 3.1 mile run and 2.2 mile walk heads east out of the school’s main entrance and onto the streets of the Ridgedale neighborhood. The challenging loop course will return runners/walkers up the back drive of campus with the finish line back at the start.

Registration Fees
5k Run - $35 ($30 Youth: 8th grade and younger)

3.5K Walk - $35 ($30 Youth: 8th grade and younger)

Tiger Trot - FREE (must have registration and signed waiver by parent/guardian)

A Family Rate of $120 for the first 4 members and $20 for each additional member is available through mail-in registration. Please download and print a family registration form. Mail form and check to The Stanley Clark School PA, 3123 Miami Street, South Bend, IN, 46614. On race day, registration fees increase by $15 per participant, with Family Rate going to $175 and $25 for each additional person. Registration fees are non-refundable. Online registration closes on Wednesday, October 16, at 4 p.m. EST. Please call 574.291.4200 to register after that date.

Packet Pick-up
Day before race: Friday, October 18 – Noon to 6:00 p.m. in the main entrance of the school OR
Race day: Saturday, October 19 – 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at The Stanley Clark School

Free T-shirts
A free t-shirt is guaranteed to all who register by September 30. After this date registrants will receive a t-shirt while sizes and supplies last.

Awards
Awards will be given to overall M/F finishers in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, current Miami/Iroquois M/F 1st place finishers, and 1^st place M/F SCS Alumni finisher. Age group awards will be given to the top M/F finishers in the following age categories: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. All 8th grade and younger 5k participants will receive finisher medals.

Out of respect and safety for other participants, dogs will not be allowed on the course or at the school. Furry four-legged runners can be dangerous when running in a crowd. Thank you!!

How do I know if I'm needed?
Once on the sign up page, to the right of every job description and you will see a “Sign Up!” button. Just above that button a box automatically updates showing how many spots are available and how many have been filled.

Fundraisers are a success because of dedicated volunteers. We are always in need of volunteers that can assist with any aspect of the event. Below are a few areas for which we may need assistance. We appreciate everyone who donates his or her time throughout the planning and execution of the Clark Run.

I'm only available for pre-race activities, is that helpful?
Absolutely! About 10 days prior to the event we need volunteers to distribute race flyers to homeowners along the route. We will also need help making volunteer reminder calls/emails the week before. The day before the race, volunteers will handle pre-race set-up and packet pick-up. Pre-race volunteers ensure race day will be a success!

Can I volunteer if I'm running the race?
Yes! Most of our pre-race volunteers plan to run the race.

How will I know what my assignment is?
You will receive a confirmation email (or phone call) indicating your assignment and respective team leader. You will be contacted prior to the race for any instructions, meeting times and specific assignment details.

Can my children volunteer with me?
Yes, but only in specific assignments. We encourage families to volunteer for water stops and runner refreshments.

Where do I go on race day?
Your assigned team leader will be in contact with you regarding your specific assignment as well as time of arrival. For any questions on race day, please report to the registration table.

Can my group volunteer?
Yes, water stations or hospitality are perfect spots for a group to volunteer. If your group wants to get really CRAZY you could create your very own “spirit station” along the course. This may include fun signs, your own music playing, costumes, or simply a great group of people cheering and encouraging the runners as they pass. I can’t make it to the Clark Run, but I still want to donate. How do I do that?
We are sorry you won’t be there but thank you for still wanting to help with the fundraising part! If you go to the online registration site stanleyclarkrun.runsignup.com there is an option to make any dollar value donation. Thank you again!

Can I run with a baby jogger or other stroller?
For the safety of fellow runners, no strollers, bikes or rollerblades are allowed in the 5K run. However, strollers/baby joggers are welcome in the 3.5K walk.

Can I bring my dog?
For the safety of others and your pooch, no dogs allowed at the event or on the course.

What is the minimum age to participate?
With written permission from a parent or guardian, capable children 7 and older can participate.

If I want to run with my child do I have to pay?
Yes, everyone MUST be registered.

Can I switch events?
Yes, as long as you let us know ahead of time

Can I register on race day?
Yes, we offer registration from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. race day. An additional fee will be charged for race day registration.

Are there any water stations on the course?
Yes! Just over half way through the run there will be super friendly volunteers ready to hand a cold cup of water. It is all downhill after that. Really. If you are doing the walk please bring a water bottle with you, no water stops on the walk course.

What time does the race end?
The course will close at 11:30 a.m. and all participants and spectators must be finished or leave the course at this time. However, there will be plenty more fun on the SCS campus after the course closes.

Do I get a t-shirt?
Yes, a nice tech shirt! AND an awesome drawstring sports bag.

Can my friend pick up my packet?
Yes.

Do I get a finisher medal?
All 8th grade and younger 5k participants will receive finisher medals.

I can’t make it to the Clark Run, can I get a refund?
Absolutely no refunds for any reason. No refunds if the race is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather).

Is there post race food?
Yes! Thanks to our sponsors we will have a variety of food and water for you to enjoy.

Where can I see results?
Results will be posted on our website stanleyclark.org/clarkrun.

Can I use an iPod or similar headset?
Sure, but please be careful. Make sure that you can hear all course and safety instructions from volunteers and police officers.

What if none of these questions are my question?
If you have any questions email [email protected] and we'll answer you. Promise.

I'm injured/scared/can't run, can I transfer my registration to someone else?
No, for all sorts of safety and legal reasons. This is a standard running industry policy.

Where does the money from the race go?
First, it covers operating costs, and then the proceeds will go to The Stanley Clark School Parents’ Association.

Can I get involved with the race if I can’t run?
Absolutely! We need dozens of volunteers to make the race happen. There are spots to volunteer on your own or as part of a service group. Click the VOLUNTEER tab under the Clark Run event to find out more.
